STANDARD TYPES
	The basic material is moulded in 25mm thick sheets and cut into individual bearing units. These are bonded together to the required finished thickness which is determined by the natural frequency required for the project. Standard thicknesses vary from 25mm to 150mm in multiples of 25mm. Standard sizes range from 100 x 100 x 25mm to 600 x 600 x 150mm, rising generally in multiples of 50mm on plan dimensions. Non-standard sizes are also available though not quite as cost-effective as standard ones.
	To maximise performance (and ease of installation) SKV pads are always used in groups - rather than as a single large unit. For example, a pile cap with a vertical load of 8000 kN would require 16 bearings of 250mm square plan dimensions. The pile head may have to be flared to give sufficient space for the bearings, fail safe devices and dowel bars for side restraint.
