The natural frequency F is calculated using the formula

where
K is the measured dynamic stiffness of the bearing at a pre-determined load and m is the mass carried by the bearing. Bearings are made from natural rubber because of its superior dynamic properties and excellent fatigue behaviour. The dynamic evaluation of the bearing material has been carried out by independent test laboratories. (Rubber Consultants - MRRDB a unit of the Malaysian Rubber Research and Development Board, Hertford.)

From tests, the Damping Ratio has been measured as 0.028 and Loss Factor has been measured as 0.056 for SKG bearings. Recommended temperature operating range: -30 to +70 degrees C.

 Static Load
 Characteristics

Bearings are available in a number of plan sizes which can have a variation of internal rubber thickness and metal plates, hence load carrying capacity can vary for the same plan size.

Whilst we recommend that our design office is contacted for a bearing proposal (see important note, above) a range of bearings may be:

229 x 152 x 24mm - Typical load: 150 kN
300 x 240 x 24mm - Typical load: 450 kN
455 x 220 x 24mm - Typical load: 750 kN

As with SKV bearings, SKG bearings are always used in groups to maximise performance and ease installation.
